Who I am - scientifically, what I do, what I am passionate about, what I am a specialist in.
In the discipline of food and nutrition technology, I am most interested in food safety. In particular, the microbiological quality/hazards of food and the principles/methods of production that ensure the food will not harm the consumer. I also have extensive experience in designing food products, especially those with the addition of good bacteria. In recent years, I have expanded my experience in the laboratory by analysing literature data and performing risk assessments in the food chain (following FAO/WHO guidelines).
I like cooking and baking, especially things that require fermentation :-D. Cycling, swimming and sailing are my favourite sports. Moreover, I like learning foreign languages and it is a passion that I discovered at a mature age. I am currently learning Spanish.
What special experiences do I have (not necessarily scientific) that we can use? Experience in laboratory tests on the microbiological and sensory quality of food. Supervisor of diploma theses (engineering, master's, doctoral) and supervisor of the Nutritionists' Scientific Club. Active work on personal development through participation in workshops and own work.
How can I help my mentees? I can assist in tasks related to conducting research for diploma theses and others; preparation of results and their publication. In addition, broadly understood support in planning a scientific career.
